Homemade Captive Ring Tool

Make your own captive rings on a lathe using homemade tools from an old screwdriver!

 drilling hole through screw driver

 cutting though to the hole from the edge of the screw driver to create a hook

 shaping the hook profile

here is the finished result quite smooth after a bit of sanding, my technique needs to be practised a bit.
